Frequently Asked Questions
Why would someone enter the counseling process?
Do you feel…
Out of control in thought and behavior?
Hopeless in struggles of depression and anxiety?
Stressed from the pain of the past?
Overwhelmed in dealing with despair and disappointment?
Lost in the busyness of everyday life?
Unable to experience the forgiveness of self or others?
Lonely or misunderstood in your family or marriage?
How often do sessions usually take place?
The frequency is worked out between the client and counselor based on the client’s needs. This is often once or twice a week.
Will our discussions be confidential?
Everything you discuss with your counselor will be held in strict confidence. However, you should be aware that there are some situations in which your counselor may be required by law to report information to the proper authorities without your permission or knowledge. These situations include, but may not be limited to, a client’s indication of bodily harm to others, involvement in a felony, suicidal intentions, and reasonable evidence of child or elder abuse or neglect. Your counselor may also disclose information in response to a subpoena issued by a court of law.
What financial information do I need to know?
Counseling session fees range from $80-$160 depending on your therapist’s licensure, experience, and advanced training. Your therapist will speak with you individually regarding their specific hourly rate. Restoration Counseling supports credit card, online, and digital payments for your convenience, along with check and cash payments. FSA/HSA cards can be used to pay for sessions, too, and as always, we can provide you with insurance reimbursement receipts for your records and to turn in to your insurance company for repayment.
Calvary Church in St. Peters, MO, where Restoration Counseling is currently housed, has been a long-time partner and supporter of the work at Restoration Counseling. At times, they subsidize fees for therapy services. You are encouraged to contact Dan Borth at 636-939-4343 for more information.
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
If you need to cancel an appointment, please notify your counselor at least 24 hours before that appointment. Failure to notify your counselor within 24 hours will result in being charged a late cancellation fee of 50% of your usual session fee.
Is the counseling center a 24-hour counseling service?
No, we are not. If you have a crisis after hours, please get in touch with Life Crisis Services at (314) 647-4357.
